Traveling Along
Before high school, I used to travel once a year with my parents. However, during high school, I always traveled alone and have created a record of flying 14 times within 1 year, which probably excesses the total number of my previous trips.
The main purpose of the trips is to participate in different events including volunteer work, academic forums, and casual traveling. Originally, I went on these trips to complete the CAS (creativity, activity and service) requirement. However, gradually, I started to enjoy all the trips, because I could make new friends and learn many new things from the trips. For each trip, I could knew people I never met before, and through working and traveling together, we became good friends, which was an amazing process. The most impressive trip for me was a 3-week summer college in the U.S., where I knew a lot of friends from different countries, and now we are still in contact.
Besides making new friends, I became more independent. In the beginning, my mother helped me to book flight tickets and hotels, and I even need her to teach me how to get a boarding pass. Now, I can do all the preparation by myself, and I even can be a guide when traveling with my friends. This summer, when I was on the graduation trip with my best friend, she was surprised that I handled all the things along the trip without any help.
